Rules and Requirements

- US International Music Competition is open for Piano, strings, woodwinds, and voice participants in the following categories:
- Solo Baroque
- Solo Classical
- Solo Romantic/Impressionostic
- Solo Contemporary
- Chamber Ensembles
- Young Prodigy
- Only one music piece is allowed to be performed per category. If the piece selected has multiple movements (sonata, suite, partita etc.), each movement will count as a separate piece. Participants can choose to compete in several categories. The same piece cannot be performed by the same contestant for the Young Prodigy categories.
- Age divisions & time limit

- Age cut date – 3 months before Competition date.

Processing fee: one-time payment of $45 for each participant should be added to the application fee(***Please note: if the contestant chooses to participate in more than one category, the processing fee should be paid just once.)
- There is a $20.00 additional fee for participation in the Instrumental Concerto (one movement).
- Chamber Ensemble application fee:
- $30.00 per participant (6 minutes or less)
- $35.00 per participant (7 minutes or more)
- Young Prodigy Category participants must perform two pieces representing various Music Styles

How to Apply
- Complete the online application form
- Make sure to include the link to your YouTube video recording. (not apply to in-person contestants)
Video Guidelines (not apply to in-person contestants)
1.All videos have to be recorded horizontally.(no videos with wide dark fields will be published)
2.The hands and face of the participant should be visible during the entire recording, as well as the keyboard and pedal (for Piano contestants)
3.Participants should be dressed in an appropriate manner.
4.All pieces have to be memorized.
5.Cutting and merging multiple takes is not allowed
6.The video should be posted on YouTube with the following title: US International Open Music Competition
7.Participant name, age, instrument (for ensemble only), City, and Country must be in the description field. Please also list the title, key, and composer of the piece
8.All recordings will be checked by Jury members affiliated with Bay Area Music Association
9.The Competition Committee reserves the right to use video and photo materials from the Competition.
10. All participants will receive a Certificate Award (by email)
